Called a “powerhouse fiddler” by the Barre-Montpelier Times Argus, Alden Robinson has become a popular performer and dance musician throughout New England and some other parts of the country. Current projects include the traditional Irish band The Press Gang, the Riptide Dance Band, and a duo collaboration with the acclaimed pianist Neil Pearlman. In 2017, he served as an Arts Envoy to Lithuania with the U.S. State Department.
Alden teaches at Maine Fiddle Camp in the summer, and year-round from his house near Portland. He teaches Irish tunes and technique, intermingled with New England fiddling. Skype lessons are available for the geographically challenged.
Traditional Irish Music session with the Vacationland Ceili Band every Monday night, 6-8 p.m., O’Reilly’s Cure, Scarborough, ME. All welcome.
